This childcare training course will be delivered by a variety of teaching methods including: presentations,  case studies, small group discussion, and whole group discussion.

  • To establish a common value base for work with challenging behaviour
  • To understand what underpins challenging behaviour
  • To place challenging behaviour within the context of life and experience
  • To understand the environment and individual and how they can contribute to challenging behaviour
  • To identify environmental and individual changes that can assist in the management of challenging behaviour
  • To understand the psychological and physiological impact of challenging behaviours on all involved
  • To equip staff with a range of de-escalation techniques proven to be successful in managing challenging behaviour
  • To understand the aftermath of challenging behaviour and the importance of maintaining a safe and secure environment for all.
