This is a combined Level 1 & 2 course and should be attended by all staff required to administer medicines within care, it provides the theoretical knowledge required to safely administer most oral, topical, aural, ocular and inhaler medicines.

Any staff, including Registered nurses, requiring update/refresh on medicine administration would only need to attend Medication Administration Level 2 course.

Please note: A competency framework is included in this training. Competency is achieved in the workplace following the training. Each procedure needs to be signed off by a qualified, senior member of staff. The completed document can then be used to identify the individuals’ competence.
