Cerebral palsy is the name for a group of lifelong conditions that affect movement and co-ordination. It’s caused by a problem with the brain that develops before, during or soon after birth.

This course has been developed as an awareness session for Healthcare Professionals who work with individuals living with this condition.

As a result of attending this training session clients will have a greater understanding of the causes and symptoms of this condition in addition to the testing & diagnosis procedure. Attendees will also feel more competent in looking after people with cerebral Palsy in respect to risk factors, choice and decision making.

  • Introduction to Cerebral Palsy
  • Giving people with Cerebral Palsy choices
  • Helping people with Cerebral Palsy achieve a sense of community presence or share ordinary places
  • Helping people with Cerebral Palsy maintain dignity and respect
  • Helping people with Cerebral Palsy develop skills or competence
  • Helping people with Cerebral Palsy grow in relationships
