This webinar workshop session is suitable for all as it provides participants with the knowledge, understanding, and practical tools needed to support individuals experiencing mental health challenges. The course explores the meaning of mental health, the factors that can influence it, and the distinction between positive mental health and mental illness. It addresses common myths, stigma, and discrimination, while highlighting the impact of social, psychological, and biological influences.
Participants will also gain an understanding of key legislation, including the Mental Health Act and the Mental Capacity Act, and learn best practice approaches to enhance care and communication. By the end, learners will be equipped to recognise signs of mental distress, respond appropriately, and promote wellbeing in a compassionate, person-centred manner.
