This Appointed Person First Aid course will provide the knowledge and skills for the student to become an appointed first aider in the work place. The delegate will get an overview of the legal requirements and the knowledge and practical skills in first aid. This first aid training course is essential for all care staff at all levels.

The appointed person first aid training course covers such topics as:
- Understand the role of an appointed person, first aid equipment and the need for recording incidents and actions
- Overview of the legal requirement & duty of care
- Understand the importance of basic hygiene in first aid procedures
- Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
- Assist a qualified first aider when treating a casualty who is unconscious and / or in seizure
- Demonstrate how to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) promptly and effectively
- Assist a qualified first aider when treating a casualty who is wounded or bleeding and or / in shock
- Administer first aid safely, promptly and effectively to a casualty who is choking
