This Infection Prevention & Control training course provides a comprehensive introduction to the issues surrounding infection control and highlights working practices employed to prevent the spread of infection.

By the end of the Infection Prevention & Control training course attendees should be able to recognise the legal duties of the employee and employer, state the procedures for accident reporting according to RIDDOR guidelines, recognise different infectious diseases – how they are contracted and how they are treated, identify ways of reducing the spread of such diseases, demonstrate good hand washing procedures, recognise the need for good hygiene practices, state the procedures for dealing with the use and disposal of sharps and state the correct way to deal with clinical and general waste.
