Practitioners and managers have a responsibility to understand the processes set up to protect vulnerable adults who use their service.

They must ensure they are not only familiar with the disclosure process, up to making a referral, but also understand the local procedures that follow once a referral has been made. This Safeguarding of Adults Advanced training course is designed for all practitioners and managers who are responsible for safeguarding beyond the referral stage and covers the procedures up to and beyond this stage.

Course Summary

The syllabus covers such topics as:

  • Recognising acts, signs and symptoms of abuse
  • How to safeguard individuals from abuse
  • What to do should you have a concern
  • How to respond to an individual should they disclose a concern
  • The local multi agency procedures and the local safeguarding board
  • The process from referral to case conference
  • Your responsibilities within the process.
