Course information

This Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Awareness course is designed to provide delegates with a general awareness of COPD including causes, treatment and its impact on a persons life. It will also provide guidance on the assessment and management of COPD and how to best support someone. The course syllabus covers such topics as:

  • The anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system
  • What is COPD?
  • Causes and symptoms of COPD
  • Assessment and diagnosis
  • Treatment and management of COPD
  • Complications of COPD, including type 2 respiratory failure
  • Supporting someone with COPD

This course can be delivered to a maximum of 15 delegates and can be tailored to meet your organisation's specific needs. A full day option provides the opportunity for all delegates to participate in a practical workstation.

This course can be delivered via Zoom or MS Teams to a maximum of 20 delegates. Virtual sessions are most commonly used as refresher training sessions. Please note that there is no hands-on practical element in this training; practical elements are displayed using video examples.
