Course information

This accredited Emergency First Aid at Work training course satisfies the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). All successful candidates will have the skills and knowledge to provide emergency first aid to casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner.

All Emergency First Aid at Work course delegates are required to have full mobility so as to demonstrate capability of a practical first aid assessment on the floor. Furthermore, there is a written theory assessment therefore, all delegates must be able to read and understand the English language.

The syllabus covers such topics as:

  • Responsibilities and reporting
  • Assessment of the situation
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty

  • Basic hygiene in first aid

  • Resuscitation including AED

  • Heart attacks

  • Minor injuries
  • Bleeding control
  • Angina
  • Choking
  • Seizures
  • Shock
