Course information

Experienced practitioners and managers have a responsibility to understand the processes set up to protect vulnerable adults who use their service. They must ensure they are not only familiar with the disclosure process, up to making a referral, but also understand the local procedures that follow once a referral has been made. This Safeguarding of Adults (Advanced) training course is designed for all staff who are responsible for safeguarding beyond the referral stage and covers the procedures up to and beyond this stage.

The course covers such topics as:

  • Recognising acts, signs and symptoms of abuse
  • How to safeguard individuals from abuse
  • What to do should you have a concern
  • How to respond to an individual should they disclose a concern
  • The local multi agency procedures and the local safeguarding board
  • The process from referral to case conference
  • Your responsibilities within the process.

This course can be delivered to a maximum of 15 delegates and can be tailored to meet your organisation's specific needs.

This course can be delivered via Zoom or MS Teams to a maximum of 20 delegates. Virtual sessions are most commonly used as refresher training sessions. Please note that there is no hands-on practical element in this training; practical elements are displayed using video examples.
