By understanding the impact of trauma, healthcare and social care staff can provide more compassionate, individualised care and create a safer, more supportive environment that fosters healing and trust.

This Trauma Informed Approach training course is for people who want to learn more about how to recognise and sensitively communicate with individuals who have experienced trauma. In addition to exploring what a trauma informed approach looks like, you will have the opportunity to reflect on your own practice. The syllabus covers such topics as:

  • What is trauma informed approach
  • Key terms & principles
  • The 3E’s of trauma and impact of ACE
  • What does it mean to follow a trauma informed approach
  • Developing a crisis plan and post crisis plan
  • How trauma informed approach impacts practice

This course can be delivered to a maximum of 15 delegates and can be tailored to meet your organisation's specific needs. 

This course can be delivered via Zoom or MS Teams to a maximum of 20 delegates. Virtual sessions are most commonly used as refresher training sessions. Please note that there is no hands-on practical element in this training; practical elements are displayed using video examples.
